Applying for a Grant

New grant application process from 2026

Building on Matana Foundation’s history of thoughtful and purposeful giving, we are currently transitioning our strategy and grants program. The foundation has moved to a ‘by invitation’ process and is no longer able to accept unsolicited applications or respond to enquiries about funding opportunities.

To allow the process to be managed fairly and consistently, organisations will be considered through a shortlisting process. Those selected will be invited directly to submit a grant application.

Matana can only make grants to organisations that hold the following ATO endorsements:

Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Item 1

Tax Concessions Charity (TCC)

Evidence of endorsements will be required at the point of application. If your organisation does not have DGR Item 1 and TCC status, unfortunately we will not be able to consider your application.
